Study Abroad Course Database

The database is a historical record of pre-articulated courses at our international host institutions. These records are meant to serve only as reference when planning your adventure abroad. All courses must be signed off on prior to departure. Any courses not listed must be reviewed for credit by the appropriate academic department prior to enrolling (see How to Approve Classes). Course availability is subject to change at any time; this historical reference does not guarantee that the courses you find will be offered in your selected term.

Some department-sponsored programs have unique course articulations, and approval processes may be made on a student-by-student basis. Courses for these programs are not found in the Study Abroad Course Database. If the program you are interested in is not listed in the Database, refer to the individual program 'Academics' tab located on each program brochure page within the MyStudyAbroad portal.

Tips for using the search feature:

• If you are unsure where to start, begin with the 'Keyword Search' as a general search field. 
• If you are interested in viewing all previously approved courses at a particular host institution, select from the 'Host Institution (HI)' drop down menu and then click 'Search'.
• This search database utilizes "and" logic rather than "or" logic. Be cautious when searching for multiple criteria at once as this will significantly limit the search results.
• The search fields are sensitive to spaces. For example, if you are looking for ACC 131 equivalents abroad, ACC131 (without spaces) will not populate search results.

Viewing search results:

• There may be multiple pages of search results available. Be sure to check the top right corner above the results table to adjust the number of rows or to navigate to the next page.
• The left hand columns denote the host institution (HI) details including country, HI name, HI course code (if applicable), and HI course title.
• The right hand columns denote the pre-articulated ISU-equivalent credit that can be received.
• In the example below, the course ART 165 History of Architecture offered at Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici in Italy is pre-articulated to fulfill the Fine Arts (FA) general education requirement at ISU. It may also be used as a 100-level ART or FCS major elective.
